FLORIN WINS BRONZE & GOLD IN BELGRADE
CADET EURO CIRCUIT, BELGRADE
Congratulations to Florin Mirica, who won bronze in Belgrade this weekend! After a strong start in poules, Florin went on to win all his matches comfortably all the way up to the last 8, where he faced the Dutch Rubailo. The quarter-final was a tense match, but Florin manage to edge out a victory, advancing to to the semis in a with a nail-biting 12-11 finish!
In the team event, Florin was the anchor for Romania. Smashing their first two DE matches 45-30, and 45-35, Romania moved on to fight against Belarus, who were seeded only one place behind the Romanian team in 3rd. This showed throughout the match, where Romania were able to break away. The last saw Belarus come within touching distance of victory but Florin was able to keep them away to finish 45-44, proceeding to the finals. After a hard semi-final, the Romanian team beat Ukraine 45-35 to take gold!
