WORLD VETERANS FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS, CAIRO

Salle Paul and Leon Paul Epee had five fencers in four categories competing in the Veteran World Championships last week. Hugh Kernohan ranked 1st seed after poules and made an amazing result to finish 5th in Cat B Men's Epee! Other great results by:

Cat A Men's Foil: Gerry Brosnan (48th)
Cat C Mens' Foil: Graham Paul, who finished 10th (Cat C Men's Foil) despite spending most of the year recovering from an injury.
Cat A Men's Epee: Jeremy Baker (27th) and Simon Pink (32nd) both made the top 32 in the largest competition at the Vets World Champs.

In the epee team, led by Graham Paul and including Hugh Kernohan and Simon Pink, Great Britain beat Japan and narrowly lost to Germany in the poule. This set them on track to face the top seed, Italy, in the last 8. It was a tough match where GBR were chasing to catch up points, finishing the competition in 7th place.
