Cadet & Junior Commonwealth Championships - New Zealand
Jess, Zoya, Oskar, Harri, and coach Tony travelled to the other side of the world for the Commonwealth Championships.
In the Junior Team Women's Epee, Zoya Suresh picked up the gold medal as part of the England team! On the way to victory, the team defeated India (45-27) and New Zealand (45-39).
As part of the England Cadet Women’s Foil team, Jessica Beechey won silver! The team defeated Scotland, 45-37. They then lost in the final to Australia.

BRC ‘B’ Junior & U14 Epee Moulton
Kseniya Kushtan won GOLD in the Junior Women's Epee! Kseniya started the day going 8V2D across two rounds of poules. This earned her first seed going into the DEs. She had a bye through the L32, then defeated Erika Hodkinson, Olivia Eadie and Daria Yousofian-Kenari to make the final. Here she overcame Amelie Russell with a score of 15-12 to win the competition!
In the Junior Men's Epee, Tristan Lumineau went 8V2D across the two poule rounds. Seeded eighth, Tristan had a bye through the L64. He then faced Caleb Matthews and Charlie Lutyens-Humfrey, winning 15-6 in each match. He then lost against Alexander Bezrodnov, the eventual winner, in the L8.
In the U14 Men's Epee, Cyrus Lee won the tournament! Cyrus won all eight of his poule fights. Seeded first, Cyrus had a bye through the L32. In a dominant display of his fencing, Cyrus defeated his opponents Dillon Duda 12-0, Rowan Hodgkinson 12-1, and Alexander Peach 12-2 to make the final. Cyrus closed out the final with a score of 12-7 against Dylan Helme. This result demonstrated Cyrus' brilliant form and promise for the season ahead.
In the U14 Women's Epee, Xanthe Trim won the silver medal! She won five and lost three in the poules. Following a bye, Xanthe defeated Kaeto Ngoka, Eliana Yunusi-Parikh and Macy Roper to make the finals. She lost in the final against Verena Hiu Yu Chan to take the silver medal.

Cardiff Cadet BRC
Salle Paul fencers in all three weapons travelled to Cardiff to compete in the second Cadet BRC of the season. We had some fantastic results, coming away with three medals.
In the Men's Foil, Salle Paul got a 1-2! Ashley Crees went 8V4D across the two poules. Seeded thirteenth, Ashley defeated Li, James, Chan and Juras to make the final where he faced teammate Yaqub Wagdi. Ashley won the final with a score of 15-9 to take home gold. Yaqub Wagdi scored a perfect 12V0D record in the poules. As second seed, Yaqub had a bye, then defeated Malasenkovs, Stahl and Drummond-Murray to make the final. He lost here against teammate, Ashley.
In the Men’s Epee event, Solu Ngoka picked up the silver medal. Solu won eight matches and lost three in the poules. He defeated Hunter, De Bono and Silk to make the L4. He then overcame Beckley in the close match to make the finals, where he lost against Chiappini.

Mariette Mason won the Senior Women’s Epee at the Norfolk Open! Mariette had a strong start, winning seven poules fights and losing one across two poule rounds. As first seed, Mariette had a bye to the semi-finals. She then defeated Easter and Willmott comfortably to take the win.

In the U12 Men's event, Matthew Yeremeyev won five and lost one in the poules. Matthew had a bye through the L16. He defeated Jack Denyer, Rohan Singh and Harry Bowman to take the gold!
In the U14 Men's, Bijan Muganwa won one fight and lost three in the poules. He defeated James Fernando in the L16, before overturning top seed, Cat Van Wijk. Bijan lost in the semi-finals against Freddie Foulkes. Matthew Yeremeyev also competed, although this is the age-group above his own. He won three and lost one in the poules. Seeded second, Matthew had a bye through the L16. He then defeated William Thomas to make the L4, where he lost against Bennet Joseph.
Bijan Muganwa also competed an age-group up, in the U17 event. He went 1V5D in the poules. He lost against William Dunstan in the L8.

Truro LPJS Sabre
Emilie, Arthur and Bijan competed in Truro at the LPJS competition.
In the U10 Women's Sabre, Emilie Chen went 7V3D in the poules. After a bye to the L4, Emilie lost against Warner in the close match.
Arthur Chen competed in the U12 Men's Sabre. He went 7V1D in the poules, earning him first seed. He had a bye to the L4, where he defeated Michael Olejniczak 10-4. He then lost against Singh in the final.
