Le Havre Veterans Epee

This weekend Simon Pink, Pete Eames and Etienne de Burgh travelled to Le Havre to fence in a French Veterans National Circuit epee competition.

Simon and Etienne needed to fence in the qualifying event on Saturday, where they both performed well in their pools, Simon 5v1d and Etienne 3v3d, automatically qualifying for the following day, Simon being ranked 4th out of 61. Tougher pools on Sunday saw Etienne with 3v3d again, but Simon 1v5d. Simon won his first fight easily, then in the L64 narrowly lost 10/8 to Le Treut of France who went on to win the event. Etienne had a bye to the L64 where he was defeated 10/6 by Walle of France.

In age group V3 Pete was 5v1d in his pool, ranking him 12th, but then lost a see-saw fight in the L64 which placed him 33rd.

Vets-2 Men's Epee (84): Etienne 42nd, Simon 57th

Vets-3 Men's Epee (76): Pete 33rd
