Cadet Dominance
Foil and epee cadet competitions this past weekend meant a lot of action for Salle Paul fencers.
Leon Paul Cadet Epee BRC
The Leon Paul Centre hosted a cadet epee BRC over the weekend. Seven Salle Paul fencers entered the event taking place on home-turf.
In the women's event, Zina and Emma both lost 15-14 in the earlier DE rounds. While Zoya fenced a more defensive style throughout the day, holding onto leads built up in the first part of the fights to win her semifinal match 9-5 and then the final 13-12.
In the men's, Casey and Amani were ranked joint second after poules. Both carved their way through the field until they met in the semi-finals, where Amani emerged victorious. In the final Amani was down early then staged a spirited comeback to level at 14-all before losing the last hit and having to settle for silver.
Congratulations to our medalists and thank you to Oana, Sam, and Roman for their support at the event.
