British Youth Championship Round-Up
Double Gold in Epee
Sixteen Salle Paul epeeists competed at the BYCs over the bank holiday weekend with a number of successes. Here are the highlights:
Solu Ngoka emerged victorious in the U14 Men’s Epee competition. After going all up in his poule, Solu got a bye through the first round. He then beat Thomas Taylor, Jiro Ishiwatari and Bintong Wang and team-mate Cyrus Lee to make the medal rounds. Solu defeated Leo Varkey and Lucas Farlam in dominant style to claim the title.
Kseniya Kushtan was the winner of the U18 Women's Epee event. Kseniya won four and lost one in her poule. Seeded fourth, Kseniya had a bye and then defeated Joanne Yang, Reya Farlam, and Olivia Eadie to reach the final. In the final, Kseniya emerged victorious over Haleena Callaghan with a score of 15-9.
In the same event, Zoya Suresh won the bronze medal. Zoya went five and one in her poule. Zoya had a bye through the L32. She then beat Charlotte Jordan and Julia Tsimelzon to reach the semi-finals. Here, Zoya lost to Haleena Callaghan to finish in third place.
Emma Mitzova also won a bronze medal in the U16 Women’s category. Emma Mitzova and Zina Suresh competed in the U16 Women's Epee. Emma went all up in her poule, winning six fights. Emma was seeded second after the poules. After a bye, she beat Isabella Cruickshank and Annabella Barahona and team-mate Zina to make the semi-finals. Emma lost to Leena Zikara in the semi-finals.

Foil Round-Up
In the U16 Men's Foil Ashley Crees won a brilliant silver medal. After a strong start, winning all of his poule matches, Ashley was seeded second. He defeated Myles Wilkinson, Samuel Cloke, Hong Yiu Chan and Monty Tucknott to make the medal rounds. In the semi-final, he defeated Alexander James 15-10, before losing in the final against Luca Florea.
In the U16 Women’s Foil, Jessica Beechey won bronze. Jessica won all six of their matches in the poule. After a bye, Jessica defeated Khadyja Ba and Thandar Glydon to make the semi-finals before losing a close match to the eventual winner, Gloriosa Sung.
Oskar Picton-Tully won the bronze medal in the U14 Men’s Foil event. Oskar won five and lost one match in the poule round. After a bye through the first round, Oskar beat Maksim Rode, Daniel Polyakov and Dominik Juras to make the L8. Here Oskar faced team-mate, Tudor Prutica, who he defeated to make the semi-finals. Oskar lost to Ethan Li to finish in third place.

Sabre Round-Up
Eyren Sibelius won the bronze medal in the U14 Women's Sabre category. Eyren started strongly, winning four of her five poule fights. Seeded 8th, she had a bye through the L64, then defeated Orlaith Lindsay-Dorward, Keira Habenicht and Amaiya Ramkisson to make the semi-finals. She lost her semi-final 12-7, but showed great potential with another year in the category.
