National Medals for Salle Paul Juniors

 

Leon Paul Junior Men’s Epee BRC

Salle Paul had six fencers enter the junior men's epee BRC this weekend. 

Hal Jones was the best fencer of the day, not dropping a single fight across two rounds of poules, then winning all his matches in the tableau to reach the finals, where he won 15-12 over Joseph Walmsley. 

Alessio and Amani reached the L16, where they lost to Will Gem and Denys Lavrentiev. Will Ferguson was eliminated in the L32 by Raphael Degorce. Charles and Avery lost to Oscar Pouw and George Hills in the L64.

Congratulations to Hal Jones for his "gold medal."

Romanian Junior Championships

Florin Mirica was in Bucharest over the weekend for the Romanian Junior championships, competing in men's epee. 

He won all his fights in poules, and reached the semi-finals without conceding more than 6 hits in a match. He lost semi final 14-15 to eventual winner Szabolcs Szamo.

Leon Paul Men’s Epee Open

Eight epeeists from the club competed in the senior men's epee open on Saturday.

Simon Brock and Charles Haines were defeated in the L64 by Lionel de Swarte--Danko and Adam Steiner. Pete Eames, Harris Makatsoris, and Will Sturgeon lost in the L32 to Alexander Terry, Luke Mason, and Levi Randall-Morgan. Luca Pellegrinello went out to Billy Shepherd in the L16. Hal Jones and Matt Henderson reached the L8, where they were defeated Antoine Belot and Billy Shepherd.

Bahrain Junior World Cup

Will Ferguson travelled to Bahrain for the junior epee World Cup that took place there on Saturday. He won three fights and lost three in poules. After his bye through the L128, he lost his L64 match against Mahmoud Essayed of Egypt.

Challenge Licciardi


Oliver Strange was selected for the men's foil junior World Cup in Aix en Provence, France. 

In the individual event, he won four and lost two poule matches. He was given a bye through the L256, and then was defeated in the L128 by Corberand of France

Challenge Espoo

Casey Jones competed in the cadet EFC competition in Espoo, Finland. He won five fights and lost one in poules. After his bye through the L128, he lost in the L64 to Jordaan of South Africa.
