Three Bronzes at England Youth Championships

Posted on June 22, 2017

Great results for Salle Paul fencers at the England Youth Championships (EYC) in Hertfordshire on Saturday 17th June 2017: Bronze for Nathalie Culkin in the U11 Girls; and joint Bronze medals for Alex Culkin and Shalang Kolas in the U13 Boys.

All our fencers performed well but particularly exciting was Alex Culkin’s match to get into the last 4 – he was 1-5 down against his opponent at the first break in the DE but bought it back in the second period by winning six consecutive hits, finally winning through 10-7 in a stunning victory. Big thanks to our coaches Tony Conyard and Leo Suarez who gave unfailing support and advice throughout the day for all our fencers, with great support from the Salle Paul parents too.
