Charlotte Macey retains London Region U14 title

Posted on March 4, 2017

Salle Paul had a long and very rewarding day at the London Regional Championships on Saturday 4th March 2017 with Charlotte Macey (right) retaining her U14 London Region title, and Amelia Middleton (left) winning the Silver – both qualified to compete for London at the British Youth Championships in Sheffield in May.

Oliver Strange won Bronze in the U14 boys and both he and Shalang Kolas have also qualified. Everyone fenced brilliantly and we were particularly pleased to see Ali Al-Mohsin winning through his first round of DEs in the U14 – a very tough event when he is still only 12. Louis and Sasha Healy also fenced very well in the U14 and U12 boys.

Big thanks to Keni Yamamoto (centre), who did a brilliant job providing coaching support throughout the day.

These qualifiers join Hassan Sachee, Alessandro Gill, Brij Gautam and Ben Stezaker who had byes from 2016. Alex and Nathalie Culkin have also qualified to compete under their Region at the British Youth Championships in Sheffield over the May Bank Holiday in 2017. Congratulations to all and good luck to all Salle Paul fencers at the BYCs.
